Bluey is a beautiful Sykes Ayres rocking horse circa 1940-1949
He is what I would class as medium sized, standing at a total of 38” (97 cm) tall to his highest point. His stand is 44” (112 cm) long x 15” (38 cm) wide
Bluey came to me structurally sound, but he had been spray painted bright blue from head to toe, definitely one of the strangest makeovers I’ve seen, but luckily the spray paint came off relatively easily, to reveal his original paint.
He has had a few touch ups, and of course new mane, tail and tack, but I tried to keep it all pretty authentic. Although, I did decide to give him a blue saddlecloth and rosettes, a small reflection of his history. His eyes, bit and stirrup irons I believe, are original, but the rest of the tack has been gently aged to match
I have left his mane and tail super long as lots of people love it that way, but I am happy to trim it to a more authentic length if required.
I can confirm he is solid and is safe to ride, if you are wanting him for a child.
You are welcome to collect him from my home address in Gloucester, or I could arrange a courier if you need me to. UK mainland usually works out around £70
