Dudley is a vintage Norton and Barker rocking horse that was made in approximately 1920-1930
He's only small, measuring 35" ( 89cm) to his highest point, with a body length of 18" (45 cm). His stand measures approximately 31 1/2" (90cm) long by 13 1/4" (34 cm) wide
He came to me badly overpainted with strange fur mane and tail, but was structurally sound. Thankfully the gloss came of well, revealing his original paintwork, which only needed touching up in a few places here and there.
His leather work is new, made from calfskin, which I gave an aged finish. With a suede saddle seat and read felt saddle cloth. His stirrup irons, bit and brass rosettes are all original to him.
His mane and tail are genuine vintage cow hair as he would have had originally.
Overall, I think he is a fine example of the make, and would look great as a display piece, but is also strong enough to be ridden.
