This beautiful old boy I have named Sonnet, probably the most elegant old Lines bow I have seen.
He came to me in overpainted, but otherwise solid condition, and although he looked to have had a relatively recent refurbishment. I think he deserved a better paint job.
The bows are original to the horse and have some beautiful areas of wear, I wanted the paintwork of the horse to match, so although newly finished, I have worked hard to replicate the patina that he would probably have had, if left in good original condition.
He retains his original Caledonian chest badge which is a lovely thing to find.
Sonnet measures 43” (110cm) to his highest point, with a 25” body length.
His bows are 6’ (183cm) in length and approximately 16” (42cm) in width.
The saddle height is around 33” (84cm) which I believe is a size 3. Meaning he is substantial, without being enormous.

This is an antique rocking horse of approximately 120 years or age.
Wood will expand and contract due to changes in moisture and temperature. Ans some cracking is likely to occur over time. To minimise this, please keep in a cool dry place, and keep away from heat sources such as conservatories, bay windows and radiators
