Figaro is a stunning, one of a kind, large bow rocking horse. Originally built and carved by Classic Rocking Horses in Thirsk, Yorkshire. He was sadly left unfinished after the founder of the company passed away.

I could immediately see the potential in this horse, even as bare wood with no eyes, he had such presence. He was clearly beautifully made, and substantial in size and a perfect blank canvas for me to add my stamp to.

I initially added detail to his facial carving, softening the edges, making the nostrils more true to life and reducing the size of the traditional large ears. I made similar adjustments to his legs and feet, subtlety adjusting the frame, from classic to a more realistic form.
​
The paintwork is where the real fun begins for me. He isn't modelled on a specific horse, but I took inspiration from Tyersal El Cid, who was open ridden and reserve Champion at HOYS back in 2018. I loved his colouration and the kind expression on his face.

His bows are solid Ash, again crafted by Classic Rocking horses, all except for the turned spindles, which were added by myself.

He comes with a choice of tack, you can chose from his western set, or his English jumping set, which was hand made to my requirements by a master saddler. The jumping saddle has a proper tree of my own design and even comes with a realistic shaped and padded girth! 
​
I am happy to customise the saddle cloth if you so choose and embroidery can be added.
​
He is a large horse, measuring 27" in body length, and stands at 44" (112 cm) to his highest point.
 
His bows measure 81.5" (208 cm) in length and are approximately 21" (54 cm) wide

The Timed auction will run from Friday the 21st November 2025 until Sunday 30th November 2025 and will close at 9pm GMT

The Starting Bid is set at £5000. Please bid in £50 increments to keep things simple.

Shipping is NOT included, so please enquire before you bid, to make sure you stay within your budget. 

Overseas shipping can be arranged at the buyers expense.
